Financial Benefits

  • In-state tuition for veterans: Penn State has always participated at the full amount in the Yellow Ribbon Program; however, the 2016 Choice Act makes this component no longer necessary. All eligible veterans and dependents receiving Chapter 33, Chapter 35, or Fry Scholarship benefits will be eligible for in-state tuition regardless of residency.
  • Application fee waiver: SIA will waive the application fee for any current or retired military personnel, active or reserve component. Contact admissions@sia.psu.edu to receive your fee waiver code.
  • Merit-based scholarships: Submit your application by January 31 to be considered for merit-based scholarships. This evaluation is automatic and does not require any additional forms.
