Join us for an upcoming discussion and presentation with Captain Thomas Hader, "In Defense of Ukraine: An Inside Look at NATO’s Mission" happening Friday, September 22 in Katz Room 232. Lunch will be provided at Noon and the discussion will begin at 1:15 p.m. with Captain Hader about careers in national security.
About the speaker:
Captain Hader (US Marine Corps) graduated in 2016 from the Pennsylvania State
University, receiving his B.A. in International Politics with a Concentration
in National Security and Risk Analysis. As a student, Captain Hader was the
Lead Researcher at the Penn State Counter Terrorism Research Initiative, and
published on topics including foreign fighter networks and terrorist use of
emerging technologies. He is also a writer and editor for two NATO
publications: the Counterterrorism Reference Curriculum (CTRC) and
Narco-Insecurity Inc. Since 2019, he has served as the Lead Advisor to
NATO’s Irregular Warfare & Resiliency Working Group (IW&RWG) and the Global
Threats Advisory Group (GTAG). Additionally, he is an instructor at the NATO
School Oberammergau and George C. Marshall Center. From 2020 - 2022, Captain
Hader served with Joint Task Force North (JTF-N) conducting counter-cartel
investigations, which led to his intelligence analysis being published in the
Presidential Daily Brief. He most recently deployed as the Special Activities
Officer with the Security Assistance Group - Ukraine (SAG-U) under Operation
Atlantic Resolve, and was awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal.
