World On Trial Screening
Date & Time: February 13, 2015 | 02:00 AM – 04:00 AM
Location: Sutliff Auditorium, Lewis Katz Building
Join us for the premiere screening of World on Trial 's "Drones and Human Rights" on February 12, 2015, at 6 p.m. in the Lewis Katz Building Sutliff Auditorium, followed by a discussion and reception with the program's creator and host, Randall Robinson, Distinguished Scholar in Residence at Penn State Law.
The U.S. military now trains more drone pilots than fighter pilots. Drones have been credited with effectively targeting suspected terrorists – but many have denounced the government's use of drones as violating fundamental human rights laws.
In the second episode of the series, World on Trial, juries around the world debate whether the use of drones by the U.S. government is a legal and effective counterterrorism tactic or a violation of the right to life.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information on the World on Trial series, visit: worldontrial.psu.edu.
