Award-winning investigative journalist Sebastian Rotella to visit SIA
Foreign correspondent, investigative journalist and author Sebastian Rotella will present “The Media in the Internet Age” at Penn State School of International Affairs on April 19. A senior reporter for ProPublica, Rotella covers terrorism, intelligence, organized crime, and law enforcement.
“The Arab Spring illustrates just how powerful the media is in the internet age,” said Ambassador Dennis Jett (Ret.), professor of international affairs and the organizer of the event. “As a foreign correspondent and investigative journalist, Rotella has a unique perspective on media, journalism, power, and perception of power, and we are pleased to host him.”
Prior to joining ProPublica in 2010, Rotella spent 23 years at the Los Angeles Times, most recently as a national security correspondent in Washington. He has been an investigative reporter in Madrid, bureau chief in Paris, and bureau chief in Buenos Aires covering South America, and Mexican border correspondent.
